Yoona Jeong is the Director of the Slippery Rock Symphony Orchestra and Assistant Professor of Music at Slippery Rock University. After receiving her Doctorate in Orchestral Conducting at the University of Texas in Austin, she won the First Prize at the Denver Philharmonic Orchestra Conducting Competition, was awarded the Best Interpretation Prize at the Khachaturian International Competition, and also reached the finals of the Arthur Nikisch Competition. She was Assistant Conductor for the Austin Symphony and worked with orchestras such as Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and Wheeling Symphony.
