
Maria Vernetti
Öykü Yanık (2001) is a Turkish conductor and violinist who has already collaborated with orchestras such as the Leipzig Symphony Orchestra, the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestre National de Metz Grand Est, the Bucharest Radio Chamber Orchestra, the Navigli Symphony Orchestra, the Bursa Regional State Symphony Orchestra, the Çukurova State Symphony Orchestra, Milano OSCoM, and the Turkish Polyphonic State Choir. During the 2023-2024 season, she worked as an assistant with the Istanbul CRR Symphony Orchestra and the Istanbul State Opera Orchestra in productions of Don Giovanni and The Barber of Seville. She was also selected as Assistant Conductor at the Saluzzo Opera Academy in 2024 and received the prestigious “Future Female Stars” scholarship from the Istanbul Music Festival and the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV).
Her artistic development has been shaped through mentorship with Fabio Luisi, Marcello Bufalini, Michel Tabachnik, Martin Sieghart, Georg Grün, David Reiland, Ekhart Wycik, and Gábor Takács-Nagy.
Winner of the T4T Turandot Conducting Competition organized by Casa Ricordi, Yanık will conduct a full production of Turandot in the 2025-2026 season. She is currently continuing her studies with Vittorio Parisi at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan while collaborating with orchestras across Italy.
