Described by The Washington Post as “a force of nature from the podium,” American conductor Molly Turner is an exceptional young talent who directs with fervor and imagination. She recently concluded two successful seasons as Conducting Fellow of the New World Symphony as well as one season as a Dudamel Fellow with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. At the New World Symphony, she conducted subscription, education, family, and holiday programs.
Her upcoming engagements in the 2025-2026 season include appearances with the Orchestre de Paris, the Minnesota Orchestra, the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra, Opera Grand Rapids, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s Green Umbrella series. Recent highlights include the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s Symphonies for Schools, the Minnesota Orchestra’s Young Person Concerts, the Lucerne Festival Contemporary Orchestra, Tanglewood’s Festival of Contemporary Music, and conducting the premiere of her own new orchestral work with the Tacoma Youth Symphony.
She has served as Assistant Conductor for the Berliner Philharmoniker, the Orchestre de Paris, the National Polish Radio Symphony, the San Francisco Symphony, the Minnesota Orchestra, the Utah Symphony, and the San Diego Symphony. Turner completed her master’s degree in conducting at The Juilliard School, where she studied with David Robertson, and received her bachelor’s degree in music composition from Rice University. She also received an Artist Diploma from the Colburn Conservatory, where she worked with Esa-Pekka Salonen.
