Claudiu Negrea
Born in Cardona (Barcelona) in 1987, Noemí Pasquina grew up in a musical family and began studying cello at the age of eight. She trained at the Liceu Conservatory with Amparo Lacruz, at the ESMUC with Arnau Tomàs, and at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague with Michel Strauss and Jan Ype Nota. She received a scholarship to join the Orchestral Academy of the Residentie Orkest – The Hague Philharmonic, gaining essential orchestral experience. For over a decade, she collaborated with numerous European orchestras before discovering her passion for conducting.
She pursued conducting at the Op.23 Academy in Madrid under Andrés Salado and Miguel Romea, and was soon appointed Assistant Conductor of the Youth Orchestra of Extremadura, the Jove Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès, and later the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès.
A decisive moment came in July 2024, when she won both First Prize and the Orchestra Prize at the Bucharest International Conducting Competition, which led to multiple engagements in Romania, Spain, and France.
Recognized for her ability to connect authentically with both musicians and audiences, Pasquina continues to establish herself as a rising figure on the conducting scene, combining her strong foundation as a cellist with an increasingly prominent role on the conductor’s podium.
