One of the most eagerly anticipated events in the international musical world’s calendar will be launching in less than 3 weeks’ time!
The Philharmonie de Paris and Paris Mozart Orchestra are delighted that the inaugural La Maestra International Competition for Women Conductors will be taking place as planned from 15 to18 September 2020.
We believe it is important to send a positive message to the musical world in these unprecedented times.
We have had to make some changes, the full details of which will be published over the coming weeks, but today we are thrilled to announce that Marin Alsop will be joining us as a member of the Competition jury.
An acclaimed conductor and champion of women on the podium, Marin shares many of our values and we are all looking forward to welcoming her.
As we announced previously, every aspect of the Competition will comply with the health safety measures demanded by the French authorities in order to provide a safe environment for everyone – candidates, members of the jury, musicians, staff and audience members – while maintaining the highest artistic standards.
The countdown has begun. Come to the Philharmonie or join us online to watch the 12 outstanding candidates who will be competing in La Maestra.
All rounds of the competition will be streamed live by our partner ARTE Concert.
