Sukjong Kim, born in 1992 in South Korea, is a conductor currently based in Hamburg. She completed her master’s degree in Conducting at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg under Prof. Ulrich Windfuhr and is now pursuing the prestigious Konzertexamen. Since 2025, she has been engaged at Theater Lüneburg as Solo-Repetitorin with conducting duties, while continuing to appear as a guest at Theater Kiel.
Kim has been recognized at major international competitions, notably as a finalist of the 2023 Fitelberg International Conducting Competition and as a Special Prize laureate awarded by Daniele Gatti at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena. She was also previously part of the German Dirigentenforum, where she deepened her artistic development within Germany’s professional network for conductors.
Her work is distinguished by an intuitive sense of communication and a vivid artistic presence, seeking to create moments of intensity and connection that resonate beyond the concert hall.
