
Gonzalo Perea
Mariana Corichi Gómez is a conductor from Mexico City. A current Rita E. Hauser Conducting Fellow at the Curtis Institute of Music, she studies under Yannick Nézet-Séguin and will be the first to complete a three-year fellowship in both operatic and symphonic conducting. Recent engagements include guest conducting for Mannes Opera and serving as Resident Artist Conductor at the Glimmerglass Festival. In the 2025-2026 season, she will conduct at the Guggenheim Works & Process.
She has worked with the National Symphony Orchestra Summer Music Institute, the Curtis Symphony Orchestra, the Princeton University Orchestra, and the National Orchestral Institute + Festival Philharmonic. She has also participated in masterclasses led by Gustavo Dudamel and Marin Alsop. She is currently Assistant Conductor of the Curtis Opera Theatre and was previously Assistant Conductor of the Maryland Opera Studio.
As a choral conductor, she served as Associate Director of Choirs at Princeton University, where she led an ensemble dedicated to Latin American and Latino repertoire. For three years, she was Music Director of the Princeton Camerata. In 2021, she graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University. She later received her Master of Music in Orchestral Conducting at the University of Maryland.
